Ipoh police chief Yahaya Hassan said the 38-year-old woman was found by members of the public who lodged a police report.
“A team from the Sungai Senam police station went to the scene to assist the victim,” he said in a statement.
“A preliminary investigation found that the woman was raped in her home by an unknown man. She managed to escape and suffered injuries to her legs after falling from a high place.”
Yahaya said police later arrested a 43-year-old man at the woman’s house and seized several items, including a pair of scissors, a knife and a wrecking bar, from him.
He said the suspect has a record for drugs and tested positive for methamphetamine, and has been remanded for seven days for further investigation.
