GOMBAK:
Ten people have called for police action after suffering losses of close to RM10 million in investment schemes linked to a businessman with the title of “Datuk”.

Dinesh Muthal, a lawyer representing the group, said that the 10 people did not receive the promised returns from investment in three entities linked to the “Datuk”.

Dinesh said his clients had invested between RM100,000 and over RM1 million, in two companies and a multi-tier investment scheme.

He said about 15 reports have been made and hoped that action will be taken soon.

One of the victims, S Sozhan, 46, said he invested RM180,000 in October 2021 into a 20-month scheme, but he has not received any returns.

Sozhan, a businessman, said he was promised up to RM20,000 in profits, in 20 months. “But I didn’t even get a bottle of mineral water.”

Sozhan said he lodged a police report at Sentul police station, and hopes that action will be taken soon.
