Dzulkefly will take over the health portfolio from Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who was Malaysia’s first woman health minister.
He previously served as health minister for nearly two years in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration. A three-term Kuala Selangor MP and Amanah strategy director, Dzulkefly also chairs the parliamentary select committee on health.
Johari, meanwhile, was appointed as plantation and commodities minister.
He served as second finance minister from 2016 to 2018.
The Titiwangsa MP was appointed in March to lead a task force to resolve matters related to the 1MDB scandal.
There are 31 ministers in Anwar’s revamped Cabinet, who will be aided by 29 deputy ministers. This is slightly larger than his initial 28-member Cabinet, which was assisted by 27 deputy ministers.
However, it is still leaner than that of his predecessors.
