He said the current situation is not about political rivalry, but rather a time for patience and focus in facing the nation’s challenges.
“This is not politics. This is not about political rivalry or being hostile to one another. I will not be holding an election in the next one or two months, just be patient. Turning to the work from home arrangements for civil servants, Anwar said the government has its own mechanisms to monitor the implementation of the programme to ensure that the integrity and the quality of public services are not compromised.
He said the proposal for partial WFH implementation by the chief secretary and the director-general of public service requires a responsible work culture and effective monitoring to prevent abuse.
Anwar added that the policy is important in testing the resolve and resilience of Malaysians in facing uncertain global economic challenges, as well as a strategic measure to strengthen preparedness for a potential energy crisis following the conflict in West Asia.
At today’s event, Anwar also presented Syawal contributions to those in need, involving RM5,000 for each recipient, including orphanages, elderly care homes and centres for those with disabilities.
