Johor cops nab 15 in nightclub murder probe

The motive for the murder has yet to be determined, says Johor police chief M Kumar.

Fifteen local men were arrested by police to aid an investigation into the murder of a man at a nightclub on Jalan Abdullah Tahir in Johor Bahru last Sunday.

Harian Metro reported Johor police chief M Kumar as saying that the men, aged 20 to 40 years old, were arrested at several separate locations around the district from Sunday to Monday.

He said one of the suspects, in his 30s, was arrested as soon as he arrived at Senai International Airport from Bangkok, Thailand.

“We received information at 4.54pm on Sunday about a murder case involving a 24-year-old man.

“All the suspects have been remanded for seven days until Feb 12,” he said in a statement.

Kumar said the motive for the murder is still being investigated.

Meanwhile, he urged those with information on the incident to contact the hotline for the Johor Bahru Selatan police headquarters at 07-218 2323, or investigating officer Afdhal Mat Saupi at 013-771 1152.
