Batu Pahat police chief Ismail Dollah said no one was seriously injured in the accident, which involved the bus, two lorries and nine cars, Sinar Harian reported.
“The accident occurred after the bus, which was going from Batu Pahat to Jalan Kluang, lost control due to brake failure.
“It then crashed into 11 other vehicles that had stopped at a traffic light at the intersection. The vehicles were damaged but the victims escaped with light injuries,” he said.
The case is being probed under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act for reckless and dangerous driving, which carries a minimum two-year imprisonment or a maximum 10-year jail term upon conviction.
