PETALING JAYA: A lorry driver in his 30s was injured after the vehicle caught fire following an accident near the Jalan Duta toll plaza in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, today.
The Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department said it received an emergency call at about noon and dispatched a fire engine and a water tanker to the scene.
Upon arrival nine minutes later, the firemen found a lorry, which was partially burnt, and extinguished the fire.
The driver, who sustained injuries to his head and hand, was sent to hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
A video of the incident went viral on social media earlier today showing vehicles partially catching fire when passing by the accident due to the diesel leaking from the overturned lorry.
