PETALING JAYA:
Several welfare homes linked to a company and located in various parts of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan were raided by Bukit Aman last night.

It is understood that the operation was carried out by the criminal investigation department’s anti-human trafficking and migrant smuggling division (Atipsom), Utusan Malaysia reported.

Police also rescued several children believed to have been exploited. They were sent to the police training centre.

The daily reported that the raid led to many residents in Puchong discussing the matter on social media.

Some claimed that they saw the authorities led the children out of these homes, while others alleged that there were about 100 children who were housed in them.

Utusan Malaysia said they have contacted Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain and CID director Shuhaily Zain for comments but have yet to receive a reply as of 1pm.
