
PETALING JAYA: The flood situation continued to worsen in Sabah this morning, with 1,223 people evacuated to relief centres as of 8am.
The worst-hit district was Beaufort, where three centres are sheltering 689 flood evacuees, while other affected districts are Kinabatangan (282) and Membakut (252), Bernama reported.
Sarawak saw a slight decline in evacuee numbers from 1,570 last night to 1,534 this morning, with Bintulu still the worst affected with 612 flood victims.
Other affected Sarawak divisions are Mukah (603), Miri (288), and Sibu (31).
