PETALING JAYA:
The Selangor government has identified 17 projects for urgent implementation in the Royal Klang City Council (MBDK) administrative area to overcome the problem of continuous flooding.

State infrastructure and agriculture committee chairman Izham Hashim said the projects would be implemented at 13 identified hotspots, including Meru and Pandamaran.

He said the projects to be implemented include drain widening works, installation of culverts for waterways, and upgrading bridges involving village areas and pocket development areas.

“Some of these projects will be started as early as this week and are expected to be completed by October,” Bernama quoted him as saying.

He said an estimated RM3 million has been allocated for the 17 projects.

Izham said the projects would be coordinated by the Selangor irrigation and drainage department in collaboration with other agencies, including the city council and the public works department.
