50 acres in Bandar Malaysia to become Malay reserve land

PETALING JAYA:
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that approximately 50 acres of land in Bandar Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur will be designated as Malay reserve land to safeguard the Bumiputera economy.

In tabling the 2026 budget, Anwar said this was an unprecedented move by the government.

He said Petronas, as the landowner of Bandar Malaysia, was in the midst of drafting the development plan, which will commence towards the end of next year.

Anwar also said government-linked companies and government-linked investment companies will channel RM40 million to expedite the upscaling of high-potential Bumiputera companies.

He also said the government will prioritise Bumiputera participation in the expansion of Subang airport and its surrounding areas as an aerospace hub.
