PETALING JAYA:
Bersatu has suspended its vice-president Ronald Kiandee and Wanita chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin for violating the party’s constitution and code of conduct.

Kiandee and Mas Ermieyati shared their suspension notices from the party’s disciplinary board on their respective social media accounts.

According to the notices dated today, Kiandee and Mas Ermieyati breached Clause 9.1.4 of the party’s constitution and will be suspended for two Bersatu election cycles, effective today.

“This means that you are immediately stripped of all positions and are not permitted to make any statements on behalf of the party until the suspension ends.

“You may submit an appeal to the appeals board for consideration within 14 days from the date of this notice,” said disciplinary board chairman Radzi Manan.

Kiandee said in a Facebook post that the suspension reflected a shift away from the party’s original mission as a platform for collective struggle, turning it instead into a vehicle for personal political ambitions.

He also asked why he was only suspended, not sacked, if his alleged offence was serious.

“I will not appeal. Consider this appeal period over. Period,” the Beluran MP added.

Mas Ermieyati meanwhile said in an Instagram story that she had “finally” been suspended.

“This is all the disciplinary board can do for now. As for me, Alhamdulillah,” the Masjid Tanah MP said.

Kiandee and Mas Ermieyati were among those who attended a gathering backing Hamzah Zainudin on Feb 14, a day after the former deputy president was sacked by the party.

They received a show-cause letter from the party’s disciplinary board over several allegations.

Kiandee said one reason was his decision to inform Perikatan Nasional chief whip Takiyuddin Hassan that 13 Bersatu MPs supported Hamzah as opposition leader in Parliament.
