SHAH ALAM:
Immigration officers questioned 200 foreign nationals at several hotspots in Selangor, including bus stops, markets and the Mentari Court area of Petaling Jaya in an operation since Friday.

The inspections were to ensure compliance with immigration laws and to maintain public safety and order during the festive season, said Selangor immigration director Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin.

He said checks were made at several hotspots, such as bus stops in Port Klang, the Klang bus terminal, Kawasan 13 Klang, GM Klang, Dataran Otomobil Section 15, the Taman Sri Muda market in Shah Alam, Selayang wholesale market and Mentari Court in Petaling Jaya.

“Ops Omnipresence involved 16 state immigration officers who are committed to ensuring compliance with immigration laws, as well as to safeguard public safety and order,” he said.

He said official departmental cars equipped with beacon lights were used in the operation, to emphasise enforcement presence and boost public confidence in ongoing monitoring efforts.
