Aminuddin said he had only tried to contact some of the BN assemblymen on Monday to get an explanation as to why they withdrew their support for him.
He said any negotiation for cooperation, including with PN’s five assemblymen, would require the approval of Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim.
“There are no discussions with BN assemblymen to get them to support my administration again. The day they withdrew their support, I tried to contact some of them, but they turned off their phones.
“The issue isn’t whether certain parties want to support me or not, but whether the (PH chairman) agrees with this.
“We can’t be with PN in Negeri Sembilan but with Umno at the federal level, that would be odd,” he said at a press conference after the state executive council meeting here today.
Aminuddin also said the four vacant posts in the state exco would be filled next week, dismissing rumours that three BN assemblymen were being roped in.
The Sikamat assemblyman said his administration would function as a minority government for now until a decision is made concerning the political turmoil.
He said he would abide by whatever decision the PH top leadership made.
Aminuddin’s administration currently only has the backing of the 17 PH assemblymen in the 36-member Negeri Sembilan assembly.
BN, which has 14 assemblymen, had claimed to have the numbers to form a new state government, with the backing of PN’s five assemblymen giving them a simple majority.
However, Aminuddin previously said the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan wanted him to remain in the post until the question of his majority support was determined.
