PETALING JAYA:
Perlis Amanah Youth chief Dr Ahmad Fadhzil Mohamad has resigned from the party, citing a “gap in principles” amid the current political landscape.

Fadhzil said he has relinquished all the posts he held in the party, including as head of Amanah Youth’s health bureau, and Kangar Amanah Youth chief.

He said this decision followed an extensive process of mulling his political direction and the ideals he wanted to carry as a young leader.

“I see a distinct gap between the principles and struggles I hold to and (Amanah’s) approach and priorities in the current political landscape,” he said in a statement.

Fadhzil said he was happy to make way for the next generation of leaders in Amanah, but urged them to focus on community efforts closer to the people’s hearts, such as healthcare and welfare.
