Amirudin, a PKR vice-president, said Selangor PKR election director Dr N Sathia Prakash should not be issuing such reckless statements that could trigger political instability.
He said the current state government was built on trust and needed to focus on executing its policies instead of being dragged into political polemic.
“While we respect the right of all parties to air their views, that does not mean we should give reckless opinions that can trigger instability and are not in the people’s interests.
“Therefore, I urge the leaders of unity government components to always exercise prudence in giving their opinions,” Amirudin told FMT.
Yesterday, Sathia had called for Rizam to be sacked from the Selangor executive council lineup in response to Umno’s 14 assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan withdrawing support for menteri besar Aminuddin Harun.
Rizam, a two-term Sungai Air Tawar assemblyman, currently helms the rural development, unity and consumer affairs portfolios.
Pakatan Harapan and BN joined forces to form the federal government after the 2022 general election ended in a hung Parliament, paving the way for PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim to be appointed prime minister.
PH and BN then contested in the six state elections in 2023 as allies, including in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
Both Amirudin and Aminuddin are in their second terms as menteris besar of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan respectively.
