TANJONG KARANG: The Education Ministry views seriously a rape case involving two teenage schoolboys and a Form One girl at a school in Jasin, Malacca.

Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid said today that the ministry viewed the matter seriously as the offence was said to have been committed in the school.

“If it is true, then the police must take action because it is a criminal case,” he told reporters here.

He said it was up to the State Education Department to conduct an internal investigation of the case.

The girl, aged 13, reported to police that she had been dragged into a storeroom by two boys aged 14 and 15. She said she was forced to undress before being raped by the two seniors.

A member of the school administrative staff who was passing heard screams from the storeroom and rushed to rescue the girl.
