The police have detained a man to facilitate investigations into Friday’s murder of a car repossessor in Tanah Merah.

The 30-year-old suspect with three criminal records involving firearms, motorcycle theft and fighting will be remanded for seven days.

Yesterday, the man from Pasir Puteh was picked up about noon in Jalan Bayam here.

“We hope to pick up five other people to facilitate investigations,” he told reporters at the state police headquarters here today.

It was reported that Wan Ishak was hacked to death with machetes during an attack by six men disguised as policemen.
