Based on a police summons sighted by FMT, Lokman, a Supreme Council member, has been called to present himself at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex at 9am.
Lokman was caught on video tearing a placard carried by Universiti Malaya students who had protested against Najib last Friday.
He said the placard, which carried a picture of a clown resembling Najib, was an insult to the former prime minister who was attending a dialogue session with students at a restaurant near the university.
He also said the students had the freedom to assemble but not to use insulting caricatures of Najib.
UM student leader Wong Yan Ke claimed the students were assaulted by Najib’s supporters.
A few days ago, Inspector-General of Police Fuzi Harun said police will submit an investigation paper to the attorney-general over the incident.
A total of 26 statements were taken on the matter.
