Cops hunt man who fled after being released by MACC

Police say Goh Leong Yeong is wanted for alleged involvement in online gambling in KL and Selangor.

MACC had released the suspect on bail for his alleged involvement in a Macau scam.

Police are tracking down a man who fled the moment he was released on bail by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

In a statement, Bukit Aman CID director Huzir Mohamed said the suspect, Goh Leong Yeong, is wanted in connection with his alleged involvement in online gambling in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Huzir said there are three investigations into Goh under Section 4(1)(C) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.

“The suspect had fled the moment he was released on bail by MACC for his involvement in a Macau scam,” he said.

He said those with information may contact Cheras CID chief Ahmad Zamri Jai at 012-8993622 or investigating officer Muhamad Faizal Asuar at 017-3126411.

Separately, Huzir said police have arrested three men for involvement in online gambling in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

They were arrested under Section 4(1) (a) of the Prevention of Crime Act 1959 and will be held for 21 days.

“They were arrested after being released on bail by the MACC for their involvement in a Macau scam,” he said.
