Police station chief among 8 held in ‘wild party’ raid

Group found in 'special room' on second floor fitted with disco-like lights.

Four policemen and four civilian women were caught partying at the police station in the Kajang district.
PETALING JAYA:
Eight individuals, including four policemen, were arrested by Bukit Aman in the midst of a wild party at a police station in the Kajang district yesterday.

Berita Harian reported that the eight comprised the station chief, three policemen and four women, who were civilians, found partying in a “special room” at the station.

The station chief was a sub-inspector while the other three policemen comprised two corporals and a lance corporal. The women were aged 21 to 37.

Bukit Aman’s integrity and standard compliance department (JIPS) conducted the raid at about 6pm yesterday following a tip-off.

During the raid, the suspects were found dancing and singing in the room located on the second floor of the station. They were believed to have consumed alcohol and ketum water.

According to the report, the room was fitted with spinning lights to replicate a disco-like atmosphere. The raiding party seized the lights along with bottles of alcohol, a loudspeaker, an audio system, a recorder, microphones and a TV.

Also confiscated were five bottles of ketum water and pornographic pictures of one of the policemen with a woman.

JIPS director Azri Ahmad said the group had also breached Covid-19 SOPs.

He said investigations were being conducted under Section 269 of the Penal Code for committing a negligent act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life. If found guilty, they can be jailed for up to six months or fined, or both.
