Kota Setar police chief Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir said police have arrested a 45-year-old in Mergong Perdana and a 52-year-old in Kepala Batas.
He said this was after a police report was lodged over the offensive comments made by the two persons on Facebook yesterday morning.
Police have yet to reveal what the offending content is.
Shukri said the two persons are being investigated for an intentional insult to provoke a breach of the peace, abuse of network services and insulting behaviour.
The case is being probed under Section 504 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
Yesterday, a 61-year-old man was arrested in Negeri Sembilan for making similar remarks against Sanusi and brought to Sungai Petani to be remanded. A magistrate did not allow the remand application and the man was released on police bail although his mobile phone was seized.
At a press conference on Aug 6, Sanusi had been asked about the status of shipping containers to hold dead bodies at the Sungai Petani Hospital, following shortage of space at the morgue there.
He replied that more containers would be made available on an as and when basis, adding: “There are enough containers for dead bodies. Anyone who wants to enter, give your names.”
A barrage of attacks ensued, calling Sanusi insensitive for making such a remark. He apologised for the matter a day later.
