PETALING JAYA: Klang Selatan district police have arrested a mother and her boyfriend after the death of a three-year-old boy.
District police chief Cha Hoong Fong said the toddler was unconscious when taken to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang by his mother on Dec 24.
Medical examinations found the child had died and had bruises all over his body.
“On Dec 25, police arrested a 27-year-old woman, believed to be the mother of the toddler, and a man thought to be her boyfriend,” Fong said in a statement today.
He said police believe the toddler was abused and beaten with sticks, belts and clothes hangers.
He added that both suspects have been remanded until Dec 30 for further investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
