PETALING JAYA:
A former police sergeant was arrested two days ago after leading the cops on a 50km car chase from Negeri Sembilan to Melaka which ended when she crashed her vehicle.

Acting Rembau police chief Azmi Ali said the chase began after the suspect crashed her Honda City into a van at Taman Sedia Raja in Chembong, Negeri Sembilan.

The suspect refused to stop her vehicle despite being ordered by officers, and fled the scene, Kosmo reported.

“She was eventually arrested at Jalan Bukit Beruang, Melaka, at around 10.30pm after a 50km police chase that went from Rembau to Alor Gajah and then Melaka Tengah. Checks of the vehicle led to the discovery of a bag containing four ecstasy pills.

“The suspect, a pensioner who retired with the rank of sergeant, suffered injuries to her face because of the crash,” he said, adding that she had been remanded.

Azmi said investigations are being conducted for drug possession and failure to exercise due control over a vehicle’s movements.
