Firemen save 21-year-old from falling off KL Tower Sky Deck

A total of 25 people were mobilised for the rescue after Fire and Rescue received an emergency call at 4.11pm.

Quick action by the Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department helped save the life of a 21-year-old who nearly fell from the Kuala Lumpur Tower’s Sky Deck earlier today.

A spokesman for the department said an emergency call was received at 4.11pm today and a total of 25 personnel were mobilised for the rescue effort.

It said the young man was standing at the edge of the Sky Deck before he was saved at 6.38pm by firemen who tackled him from behind.

“The victim was brought to a safe place and handed over to the police for further action,” the statement said.

KL Tower Sky Deck is an observation deck 276m (905ft) above ground level. It is a popular tourist attraction at the tower, located at Bukit Nanas in central Kuala Lumpur.
