Baharuddin, the deputy director, had been acting director since August, taking over from Zamri Yahya who had led the unit since June last year.

Bukit Aman secretary Noorsiah Saaduddin also announced that Kelantan acting police chief Zaki Harun has been confirmed in the post.

Azman Ayob, head of the crime prevention and community safety department of Kuala Lumpur police, takes over from Zaki as deputy chief of Kelantan police.

The Royal Malaysia Police College Kuala Lumpur will also get a new commandant in Anuar Othman, who is currently the head of Perak CID.

Johor deputy police chief Khaw Kok Chin has been promoted to deputy director of internal security and public order at Bukit Aman.

His post will be filled by SM M Kumar, a principal assistant director in Bukit Aman’s narcotics criminal investigation department.

The appointments are effective from Oct 25.
