No talks within PH on Cabinet posts, says Mat Sabu

Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, who was defence minister under the former Pakatan Harapan administration, says he's not sure if he'll be in the Cabinet.

Mohamad Sabu said he will leave it up to the prime minister to decide on the Cabinet composition.
PETALING JAYA:
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has yet to discuss the formation of his Cabinet with Pakatan Harapan (PH) component parties, according to Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.

Mohamad, who is Kota Raja MP, said although discussions have yet to be held, the Cabinet would be formed as soon as possible, Sinar Harian reported.

“It is up to the prime minister to decide on ministerial positions. I don’t know whether I will be in the Cabinet or not,” he was quoted as saying.

Mohamad, also known as Mat Sabu, was defence minister in the PH administration after the coalition assumed power in 2018.

PH comprises PKR, DAP, Amanah and Sabah-based Upko.

Anwar, who is PH chairman, leads a unity government comprising PH, Barisan Nasional (BN), Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), with support from MPs from Muda, Warisan, Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM), and independents.
