Cops summon Hadi to give statement

The PAS president will be at the Sentul police headquarters at 3pm to have his statement recorded.

This comes after a police report was lodged by several parties against PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
PETALING JAYA:
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has been summoned by the police to give a statement over a police report lodged against him.

According to an aide to Hadi, the Marang MP will be at the Sentul police headquarters at 3pm to have his statement recorded.

The aide said the report was lodged by several parties.

Last week, Pakatan Harapan lodged a report over Hadi’s cryptic comment of a football referee providing “extra time for the losing side” after the match was over.

His comment, a quotation from a column he wrote for the party organ Harakah, was interpreted as a reference to the formation of a unity federal government. It drew angry responses on Twitter.

PH claimed the statement was in reference to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and that Hadi’s remark was tantamount to treason.

Late last month, Ampang PKR lodged a report against Hadi over his claim that DAP promoted Islamophobia and prevented PAS from being in a position of power. He described the PH component party as “immoral”.

Earlier, on Nov 10, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng lodged a report against Hadi for calling DAP a “pro-communist” party.

Hadi had given his statement to the police in August for saying that non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras were at the root of corruption and formed the “majority of those involved in ruining the country’s politics and economy”.
