
Loke, who is transport minister, said ministers like himself would only meet PAS leaders to talk about matters involving the federal and state governments.
He said he had met the menteris besar of Kelantan and Terengganu, both of whom are from PAS, but discussions held were not political in nature.
“Did I invite them to join (the unity government)? The answer is no,” Loke said after attending a Wanita DAP event here.
Yesterday, government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil was reported to have been “non-committal” when asked about discussions on the possibility of PAS joining the government.
Fahmi said there were many discussions between menteris besar from PAS-led states, MPs and the prime minister.
Last night, two PAS leaders dismissed claims that the party had discussed the possibility of joining Anwar’s unity government.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and the party’s Ulama Council chief Ahmad Yahaya denied that such talks took place.
Tuan Ibrahim said the party was committed to Perikatan Nasional while Ahmad said they were focussed on the coming Sungai Bakap by-election.
