The wife of the former finance minister had applied for temporary release of her passport to meet one of her lawyers, Dave Vasoodaven, in London, as well as to attend an international art show in Venice.
Kuala Lumpur sessions court judge Azrul Darus granted her application, releasing her passport from July 14 to 25, Utusan Malaysia reported.
Deputy public prosecutor Fadhly Zamry did not object to the application.
Azrul ordered Naimah to return her passport to the court within 48 hours of returning to Malaysia.
In an affidavit supporting her application, Naimah said she was attending the art show in her capacity as chairman of Ilham Foundation’s board of trustees.
In June, Naimah was granted the temporary release of her passport for travel to Singapore and Switzerland. She said she was invited to attend an art exhibition in Switzerland and subsequently needed to travel to Singapore for work.
On Jan 23, Naimah claimed trial before the sessions court to a charge of failing to comply with the terms of an asset declaration notice under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act.
She was accused of failing to declare her ownership of companies, several plots of land here and in Penang, as well as two vehicles.
She was allowed bail of RM250,000 in one surety. Her passport was surrendered to the court as part of her bail conditions.
