Police tracking woman in viral video who allegedly killed kitten

Police received a call from a member of the public reporting that a woman, suspected to be mentally ill, was causing a disturbance at a laundromat.

PETALING JAYA:
Police are tracking down a woman who allegedly killed a kitten at a laundromat in Bandar Sunway today.

Petaling Jaya police chief Shamsudin Mamat said police received a call from a member of the public about a woman, suspected to be mentally ill, causing a disturbance at the premises.

“When police arrived and were waiting for an ambulance to take the woman away, she fled,” he said.

“No police personnel were injured, and we are currently tracking the woman and her family based on information provided by the public.”

Shamsudin added that police have not yet received an official report about the incident, which the veterinary services department will investigate.

A video posted in the “Subang Jaya & USJ Community” Facebook group today showed a visibly disoriented woman at a laundromat in Sunway Mentari, Bandar Sunway, next to a dead kitten.

The group’s administrator, who shared the post, claimed that the kitten was tortured to death and said Sungai Way police had been alerted.
