Fahmi said the matter was discussed at today’s Cabinet meeting, where Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also briefed members on his audience with the Selangor sultan, in which menteri besar Amirudin Shari was present.
“Pig farmers must also use the latest technology to properly manage waste and pollution,” he said at a press conference.
In February, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah called for a complete end to pig farming in the state, citing its environmental impact and Selangor’s demographic makeup.

He said mitigation efforts, including cloud seeding operations, will be stepped up to address the issue.
The air force and the fire and rescue department have been directed to intensify cloud seeding activities using their respective aircraft and assets, he said.
Fahmi said the National Disaster Management Agency will coordinate and fund the operations to ensure a more effective response to the dry spell affecting several regions.
He said the government remains committed to ensuring nationwide water supply stability and will continue to monitor the situation.
