
JOHOR BAHRU: The flood situation in Johor, especially in Batu Pahat, is improving.
Floodwaters in the severely affected areas, such as Parit Sulong, Yong Peng, Sri Gading and Parit Raja, have started to recede.
According to the state disaster management committee, 20,107 victims are currently housed at 77 temporary relief centres as of 4pm in Batu Pahat and Segamat. This compares with 21,127 recorded at 8am today.
The weather in all 10 districts until this evening was reported to be clear and no rivers were recorded with dangerous water levels.
Earlier, Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi, in a Facebook post, said efforts to pump out stagnant water were being actively carried out.
