Cops on hunt for suspect after man shot at Klang restaurant

The victim was injured in his left hip after a man got down from an MPV and fired several shots at people seated outside the outlet.

SHAH ALAM:
A 45-year-old man sustained injuries to his left hip in a shooting at a restaurant on Lebuh Batu Nilam, Bandar Bukit Tinggi in Klang at 2.15am last Friday.

South Klang police chief Cha Hoong Fong said the victim is believed to have been shot by another local man, who came to the restaurant in a white multipurpose vehicle, before getting down and firing several shots.

“The man fired several shots at a few people sitting outside the restaurant and escaped in the same vehicle,” he said in a statement today.

The victim is receiving treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang and he is in stable condition.

Police found six bullet casings and a bullet at the scene. They are tracking down the suspect for investigations under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
