PETALING JAYA:
A 14-year-old boy was allegedly confined and sodomised by an unknown man at an apartment in Section 32, Shah Alam, yesterday.

Shah Alam police chief Ramsay Embol said the suspect has been identified, and efforts to find him are ongoing.

He said police received information about the incident after the victim’s parents lodged a report yesterday afternoon.

The teenager was allegedly confined and assaulted by the suspect in a bedroom at an apartment in the Bukit Kemuning area.

Preliminary investigations found that the suspect approached the victim by offering him a mobile phone internet package before allegedly luring him to the apartment.

“The victim’s hands and legs were then tied before he was allegedly sodomised,” Ramsay said in a statement.

He said the victim managed to free himself when left alone in the apartment and shouted for help through a bedroom window.

Nearby residents rescued the teenager before contacting the police.

Police are investigating the case under Section 342 of the Penal Code for wrongful confinement, Section 377C for committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent, and Section 323 for voluntarily causing hurt.

Ramsay advised parents to remind their children to be wary of strangers.

Those with information about the case are urged to contact investigating officer Sabri Rani at 017 2892628.
