However, if you’re on the lookout for a truly unforgettable gastronomic experience, head over to Bangsar Utama, where a beloved Indian eatery has just rejigged its menu.
Fierce Curry House has been on the radar of food lovers for years now, and for good reason.

Located along busy Jalan Kemuja, this eatery has a reputation for being the go-to place if you’re hankering for a piping hot plate of biryani.
And not just any biryani, mind you, but biryani served in a wide variety of options you won’t find elsewhere.

But these days, you can opt to indulge in a sinful meal of banana leaf rice at Fierce Curry House, a new addition to the menu that is fast becoming a favourite among its loyal stream of customers.
While most banana leaf sets come with the standard three vegetables and a meat of your choice; at Fierce Curry House, you can expect up to 16 dishes, no kidding!
This is all part of Fierce Curry House’s “Banana Leaf at Home” offer, concocted during the last Covid-19 lockdown so Malaysians could experience the joys of a banana leaf meal in the safety of their homes.

With Covid-19 restrictions currently relaxed, you can enjoy this delightful set at the restaurant now.
Mind you, it is priced at RM220 as it is meant for six, so do bring a big party for maximum enjoyment.
Aside from rice fresh out of the pot served atop banana leaves, you will be treated to XXL Mud Crab Curry, which is every bit as impressive as it sounds.

Huge crabs doused in a thick curry will make just about anyone salivate, so imagine tucking into this delightful dish, hurriedly cracking through the shell to get at the juicy meat inside.
And there’s the fried chicken – perfectly crisp on the outside and super tender and flavourful within, each bite will inch you a little closer to heaven.
Meat lovers will also have a field day with the Mutton Mirchi Masala, where each morsel of meat packs a punch of flavour.

Accompanying the banana leaf set are two poriyals – cabbage and long beans – that are crunchy and delicious.
There is also the Bhindi Masala, a boon to okra lovers, and Eggplant Masala, soft in texture and rich in taste.

Now, for the all-important gravy! Make your pick of vegetarian sambar or plain chicken gravy or ladle up some crab gravy too. Better yet, why not walk on the wild side, and mix all three up?
Apart from the papadom, other must-haves in this banana leaf set include the Mango Pickle, Fried Salted Chilli and a refreshing raita.

Speaking of vegetables, one must-try that will leave you hooked is the Fried Bittergourd, which is deceptively simple in appearance but addictive in terms of taste.
By this point, you must feel somewhat close to being stuffed, but make room for some hot, sour and soothing Rasam that will help clear your throat and leave you feeling warm inside.

If by some miracle you still have room for dessert, dig into some lip-smacking Gulab Jamun or try the Roti Nutella, which consists of lashes of Nutella sandwiched between pieces of hot naan, topped with ice-cream.
And while you’re at Fierce Curry House, why not try the signature Lobster Biryani? Bear in mind though you have to place an order for this dish 24 hours in advance.

According to Fierce Curry House’s founder, Herukh Jethwani, it took six attempts before he finally mastered this Lobster Biryani recipe.
Needless to say, his efforts have paid off as the sweet flesh of the lobster is delightfully juicy and tender, with the flavours of the crustacean so rich it tastes as though it was fished fresh out of the sea moments before landing on your banana leaf.
In any case, if you are ever on the lookout for a hearty meal and excellent service, Fierce Curry House is the place to be.
